Daniel Light is a New York based actor & choregrapher, graduated with honors from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (NYU). While attending, he trained at the Meisner Studio, the Classical Studio, Stonestreet Studios, as well as abroad at NYU's Shakespeare in Performance program at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, England. He has also taken part in training programs at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Shakespeare & Company.
Daniel is an Advanced Actor Combatant, having received recommended certifications from the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) in Unarmed, Smallsword, Broadsword, Rapier & Dagger, Knife, Single Sword, and Sword and Shield; as well as a Broadsword certification from the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat (BASSC). He has been a fight captain and choreographer for Catskill Mountain Shakespeare, Atomi Theatre Collective, Shakespeare & Company, Rogue Ensemble Theatre Company, and several others. He has also worked as a stunt coordinator on films such as If Trumpets Had Eyes. He has also served as an intimacy consultant for both stage and film.
Additionally, Daniel has worked as a Consent Educator with Speak About It, a sexual assault prevention nonprofit based in Portland, Maine. The company travels to universities, high schools, and other organizations around the country to promote awareness of healthy sexual choices, advocate consent, and prevent sexual violence through inclusive performance-based education, discussion facilitation, and provision of resources.
Daniel was a member of Shakespeare & Company’s 2019 Northeast Regional Tour, which was featured in the The New York Times, and focused on bringing the language and vivacity of Shakespeare's work to a younger audience.
